Linger is made for private conversations. Your journal, notes, conversation history, companion names, and photos stay on your device. Linger does not upload them to our servers.

What stays on your phone
Your conversation preferences, seen-question history, journal entries, loved questions, notes, companion names, and photos are stored locally on your device. You control them and can delete them from within the app.
Permissions you choose
Linger may ask for camera or photo access when you choose to take a photo together, and notification permission if you enable weekly nudges. These features are optional. You can change permissions in your device settings.
Purchases
Purchases such as Linger Complete and optional content packs are processed by Apple or Google. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. The applicable store may provide us with purchase status needed to unlock content or restore purchases.
Information the stores may collect
When you download or buy through an app store, Apple or Google may collect information under their own privacy policies. Their handling of that information is governed by their terms, not this policy.
Sharing
When you choose Share or Export, Linger opens your device’s sharing menu. The destination you select—such as Messages or Mail—handles the shared photo or journal export under that service’s own privacy practices.
Website waitlist and measurement
If you join the website waitlist, we store the email address you provide solely to send the requested launch notice. The website also keeps anonymous daily totals for a small number of interactions, such as trying a question. We do not use advertising cookies, create visitor profiles, or store IP addresses or browser fingerprints for this measurement.
Children
Linger is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
